Essential Responsibilities:

  • Departmental support including:
    • General receptionist duties
    • Providing general support for Roanoke Timberlands personnel
    • Scheduling appointments, conference room and seminars
    • Coordinating logging, forestry and operations contract packages complete with requesting and ensuring proper insurance certification and/or performance bond requirements as required, ensuring purchase order processes, mailings and filings
    • Assisting with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business of the department functions such as developing reports, correspondence, organizing meetings, entering purchase orders, expense report and maintaining spreadsheets
    • Distribution of incoming and outgoing department mail
    • Maintain office supplies and inventory
    • Greet customers/vendors/visitors
    • Organizing and maintaining department files
  • Program and miscellaneous project support responsibilities including:
    • Resource Safety Program - providing documentation and information distribution of the Resources Safety Program
    • Assisting Resources Controller and Resource Accounting department with special projects or needed capacity from time to time
    • Assist the Timberlands Manager and the Resources Directors with special projects utilizing computer and organizational skills in continuous improvement projects from time to time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent math and grammar skills
  • Proficient working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, Word and Excel specifically, plus accurate typing skills.
  • JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Concur experience is a plus
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have exemplary attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize and complete work from multiple sources
  • Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work independently
  • Must be self-motivated in supporting continuous improvement
