Essential Responsibilities:

  • Role model for safety
  • Inspect MDF panel and determine compliance with specifications
  • Audit the various plant manufacturing processes against internal specifications
  • Identify nonconformance and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Communicate and document quality observations and resolutions
  • Use proper measurement techniques and follow established testing procedures to determine product conformance to specifications
  • Perform data entry and maintain filing system
  • Assist with third-party audits, testing, product trials, and calibration
  • Complete assigned projects
  • Work with the manufacturing team in optimizing plant processes

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-4 year college degree preferred
  • Three years experience in quality assurance or in wood products manufacturing required. Some experience may be waived depending on degree
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • Able and willing to be certified in CPR/First Aid
  • Must have a professional appearance and behavior
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to type 30-50 wpm; ten-key preferred
  • Ability to use power tools, including various saws
  • Work productively and safely with minimal supervision
  • Good math skills
  • Proficiency in the use of office software: spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentations; software programming language experience is a plus
  • Able and willing to lead and coach other employees in quality procedures
  • Able and willing to advance to higher levels of responsibility
