Purpose

Responsible for receiving, unloading, storing and issuing supplies and parts for plant operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant inventories of parts and supplies to support efficient plant operation.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels in the storeroom daily (Identify, check daily issues, document, price, distribute to proper account, prepare to approval process fully). This will be divided into two categories:  Mechanical and Electrical.
  • Order and receive storeroom supplies.
  • Receive and unpack incoming orders, check against items listed on purchase orders, invoices or other order forms while ensuring quality and specifications of material order is addressed at time of receipt.
  • Maintain records and documentation; complete paperwork and update computer records.
  • Maintain computer inventory tracking system, including proper withdrawal entries, receipt entries, cycle counts, etc. This includes the use of E1 for tracking quantities of parts and supplies.
  • Assist staff and contractors in the controlled distribution of spare parts inventory, consumables or specifically ordered material and/or equipment.
  • Research and compile information relating to the stores, such as on new items, suppliers, and costs.
  • Coordinate shipping for items being returned to the vendor or sent to a repair facility.
  • Restock parts as received to ensure correct storage location.
  • Receive special order parts verified by the work order and notify the individual ordering the part of the arrival.
  • Keep all supply and parts areas clean and free of clutter, outside as well as inside on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with all internal customers to meet their requirements for goods and services, to assure and satisfy our "Downstream Customers.
  • Responsible for communication of Supply Management strategies and projects at the mill.
  • Works closely with the Purchasing Agent to ensure any chemical ordered is approved for site use.
  • Shared focus on responsibility for cost control and loss prevention.
  • Maintain store shelves and storage spaces in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as necessary including the use of mobile equipment to load/unload freight.
  • Serve as a back-up to the Purchasing Agent, with basic knowledge of the job functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of stockroom, inventory control, warehouse, purchasing, receiving (or a combination of all) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key warehouse responsibilities of this position
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge of computer and supporting software (E1 and EAM a plus)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to do physical lifting
  • Knowledge of storeroom policies and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of plant operations and supply needs
  • Strong time-management and attention to detail skills
  • Good mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in business, manufacturing, production or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting procedures relating to purchasing/stores.
