Essential Responsibilities:

  • The territories cover multiple states, requiring extensive travel, and frequent overnight stays on a regular basis
  • Works directly with code officials, architects, building designers, engineers, dealer technical associates, dealer sales people, developers, framers, and builders to educate, train and establish understanding and knowledge of Roseburg products that will enable them to actively specify, design, purchase and install Roseburg Products
  • Establish selling programs to accounts in a coordinated effort with the business director
  • Develop effective, large-scale, self-sufficient and technically competent distribution for Roseburg products that has the ability to design, package and deliver the product and technical support required by the market served
  • Orchestrate the company response on complaints and claims, ensuring the appropriate sense of urgency while proactively communicating status within and outside the company
  • Embrace ownership of the cycle of order fulfillment from order receipt, through manufacturing, logistics, and A/R processes
  • Communicate the needs of the customer to all internal RFP stakeholders by analyzing, organizing, and presenting data, facts and logic
  • Coordinate and manage sales efforts within assigned territory and specific accounts; assume accountability for reaching or exceeding target volume, return and sales levels
  • Establish and maintain a successful market intelligence network
  • Create a positive working relationship with key manufacturing personnel
  • Travel to key accounts as appropriate or necessary
  • Work trade shows and other local and national builder events to promote Roseburg
  • Increase market share of Roseburg products within the territory while maintaining targeted margin goals and managing costs
  • Prospecting new accounts and establishing long term strategic relationships that focus on the value of our products and programs that meet our customer's needs
  • Serves as the relationship owner of all customers within the defined territory
  • Manage and strategically improve a product specific distribution network
  • Training of distributor sales reps so that they focus on Roseburg products
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of market trends to assist in key decisions impacting our customer's markets and future growth
  • Timely and informative administrative reporting as determined by management as well as cost control for sales activities
  • Investigate quality problems in the market and communicate issues to the appropriate party to drive resolution

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business
  • Five (5) plus years' technical sales experience in the building materials segment
  • Ability to deliver world class customer service
  • Ability to work in various computer platforms (Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel)
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Positive demeanor and the ability to lead and/or function within a team
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understand and exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong self-motivation and organizational skills
  • Have a proven sales record
  • A basic understanding of financial principles
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Roseburg product portfolio as well as our value over the competition
  • Good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of our key competitors
  • Strong selling skills including listening, questioning techniques, identifying buying signals & negotiating
  • Valid driver license with a safe and proven driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 60% of the time
  • Self-starter, with ability to achieve goals while working out of a home office environment, based within the defined territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business, marketing or technical degree
  • Previous industry-related experience
