Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with business logistics managers in providing common and contract trucking services for all operating divisions and rail queries and opportunities for rate quotes
  • Make routing and carrier recommendations to business logistics managers and modal experts
  • Manage and resolve freight audits and discrepancies through accounts payable
  • Negotiates rates for flatbed, vans, and curtain van truck shipments
  • Monitor and analyze truckload volumes and optimize utilization of all flatbed, curtain, and van capacity
  • Monitor and analyze rail volumes and optimize utilization of certain rail car types
  • Daily dispatching and tendering of loads within the E1 system.
  • Daily scheduling of appointments and issues that arise.
  • Set up, track and trace carriers and/or shipments within the OTM system
  • Addresses sales and customer service queries on shipment logistics details
  • Monitors carrier compliance; carrier information files; maintenance of tariffs

Required Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented and capability to multitask while working under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate with other business units including sales, manufacturing and resources, in order to complete tasks and projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and skills
  • Be willing to work non-standard hours
  • Strong team player, contributing to a high performing team environment.
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated competence in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, keyboarding, numerical keypad and other applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of dispatch related experience
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree
  • Inventory reconciliation experience
  • Knowledge of E1 system
