Essential Responsibilities:

  • Daily negotiation and processing of requisitions and purchase orders for TFL paper, MDF, MDO ($30 million spend) and ensuring that these are delivered in a timely manner and at maximum total cost benefit to Roseburg
  • Manages the direct material inventory
  • Works closely with plant schedulers to determine proper order demand along with consolidating plant orders to encourage better efficiency with vendor production
  • Ensures all purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Identifies and implements other "value-add" cost and process improvement opportunities
  • Handles all vendor communication regarding direct material ordering/logistics
  • Works with Roseburg vendors and plant locations to support quality efforts and handle product claims
  • Models company core values

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of direct or indirect purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Two years' experience purchasing or working knowledge of direct material
  • Two years' experience with cost reduction/vendor improvement programs
  • Self-starter with a high degree of individual initiative
  • Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment
  • Excellent communication, people, problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Strong consensus-builder with a service orientation
  • Computer/systems literate including experience with Excel and manufacturing based ERP systems, preferably Oracle's Enterprise One (E1).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a relatively high-volume environment
  • Must be self-directed, able to meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates' degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
