Essential Responsibilities: Identify and categorize all key process variables (KPV) Establish sampling techniques and statistical process control (SPC) charts for each KPV Establish tools for plant personnel to monitor control charts and administer rules for changing processes Apply statistical tools to sampling, data collection and analysis Work with plant personnel in understanding the impact of changes to each KPV and how to control and reduce the variability that is identified Manage the lumber model, working with the lumber sales team to drive most profitable product mix Set up and manage all optimization in the sawmill Provide leadership in implementing process changes (new equipment, new processes and projects) while maintaining performance expectations Manage KPV to ensure mill flow and predictable product mix through testing and daily monitoring of production Work with plant programmers involving PLC programs to improve process performance and reduce variation in KPV Work closely with plant personnel on KPV data capture and reporting Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field; and three (3) plus years of experience Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills Strong teaching, coaching, facilitation and mentoring skills Ability to communicate effectively and build trust in relationships at all levels of the company Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment Proficiency in Word and Excel, particularly proficient in spreadsheet development and use Proven understanding of statistical analysis and proper sampling techniques Excellent problem solving and investigation skills with a focus on root cause analysis and development of sustainable corrective actions Models the core values of the company Ability to conduct activities in a safe and professional manner Demonstrated understanding of business goals and the importance of how the job supports these goals Ability to analyze and present data and interpret in to actionable information Must be available and willing to work overtime as needed to facilitate the effective operation of the plant Sawmill optimization experience is preferred AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER INCLUDING DISABILITY AND VETERANS
