ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a resource to Safety Professional, Plant Manager and supervisors in supporting their efforts to achieve safety KPI's, Lead and or assist in safety initiatives and safety goals such as SHARP & VPP
  • Interpretation, education and enforcement of appropriate safety codes, safety and work rules
  • Monitor, analyze and requisition of safety supplies and equipment.
  • Conducting, analyzing and prioritizing results of regular safety inspections.
  • Orientation of new hires.
  • Site safety awareness.
  • Overseeing the timely updating of J.S.A. sheets, MSDS books.
  • Analysis of accidents and assistance with development of preventative, educational, training programs.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with injured employees, work's compensation department and medical community as appropriate and assigned.
  • Work closely with safety committees and their development.
  • Collect safety related data and input into E-Compliance system as appropriate
  • Be required to lead special safety projects as assigned
  • Be able to become train the trainer
  • And other functions as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prefer safety experience i.e. safety lead or chairman and/ or a minimum of two years advanced education.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Must be a team player with team building skills
  • Ability to make decision when under pressure
  • PC operation and experience (Word and Excel Spreadsheets)
  • Proven leader and results driven.
  • Good understanding of company Safety policies and OSHA safety regulations
  • Willing to expand education/training
